Inspiration

Les Senteurs’ first candle collection is inspired by the history of the Hawksley and Nicholson families, who came together as Michael and Betty Hawksley – the co-founders of Les Senteurs.

The idea for this candle fragrance came from a story told by Betty​ Hawksley. Michael and Betty were travelling to the South of France on ​‘Le Train Bleu’. It would be the first time he would be introduced to ​Betty’s maternal grandparents, and his first visit in Toulon.

As the ​train made its way along the coastal track, Michael leaned his body ​out of the window, inhaled deeply several times and exclaimed​ ‘Oh Betty, can you smell this?.... this scent, it's just so… inspiring!’
